Hyderabad: In a significant meeting aimed at strengthening Hyderabad’s position as a global technology hub, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, along with key state ministers and officials, met with Microsoft Corporation President Satya Nadella today in Hyderabad.

The delegation included D. Sridhar Babu, Minister for IT and Industries; Uttam Kumar Reddy, Minister for Irrigation and Civil Supplies; Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari; Special Chief Secretary for IT and Industries Jayesh Ranjan; and Special Secretary to the Chief Minister Ajith Reddy.

Microsoft, one of the earliest tech giants to establish a presence in Hyderabad, has grown exponentially over the years, with its workforce now numbering over 10,000. The company has also invested heavily in the state’s infrastructure, particularly in its data centre capacity, which has reached 600 MW.

During the meeting, CM Revanth Reddy expressed his gratitude to Nadella for Microsoft’s continued investment and growth in Hyderabad. The Chief Minister emphasized the state government’s focus on emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI, and cloud computing. He sought Microsoft's support in furthering these initiatives, with the goal of positioning Hyderabad as a global leader in the tech industry.

Further elaborating on the state’s development agenda, CM Revanth Reddy highlighted several ambitious infrastructure projects, including the Regional Ring Road, radial roads, the Future City initiative, and the establishment of new manufacturing clusters. He also outlined plans to create a vast pool of industry-ready talent through educational institutions like the Young India Skills University.

In response, Satya Nadella reaffirmed Microsoft’s commitment to collaborating with the state government on these initiatives. He commended the Chief Minister’s vision for the city’s future, particularly the emphasis on skill development and infrastructure enhancement. Nadella remarked that these two areas are crucial to positioning Hyderabad among the top 50 cities globally for fostering economic growth.

The meeting underscored a shared vision for Hyderabad’s continued rise as a leading hub for technology innovation, with both Microsoft and the state government pledging to work together to achieve this goal.
